Bren very pretty rose... reminds me of the Julia Child Rose.

John Ehrling Nice! I would love to see more photos from your flower garden.

I have a question that may sound silly but what do all those symbols mean when you like someone's post ? For instance..... the strawberry, lemon, carrot, cactus, watermelon and pepper ??

John Ehrling They are fun reactions. Laughing lemon, sad watermelon, angry pepper, stuff like that!

In my inside sprouting room, Peppers are so slow coming up but the Moringa just sprouted. Hope I can keep them growing. They are a somewhat tough plant to grow up here. Planted my tomatoes (34 but some are to be for my kids). My lettuce is almost ready to cut...using scissors to cut cause they are just the shoots. In the next few days, starting some flowers, more herbs and repot houseplants and my lemon trees that I started from seed. They're about 5 inches tall and probably won't grow lemons but it's fun to see what'll happen. Hope everyone is excited about gardening as I am every year. Enjoy your day !!!

Jessica My peppers are super slow this year!

Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie and I am sooo happy to be here! I am out on the eastern side of Long Island, NY and I often feel a little alone in my garden endeavors haha. I have a 7 year old daughter that I homeschool. I am also a hairdresser and I sell health and wellness products with Isagenix. I feel so blessed I get to work from home so I can dive in to my home and yard this year.
I am really new to everything, last year was a bust, the year before I had many accidental plants which made me so happy. My goals this year are to be very intentional in my garden planning, how and what I want to preserve to have later, and become more handy in my DIY skills. A goal of mine in the next month is to either build my own chicken coop and run, or purchase the coop and build the run myself. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻!
I’ll be starting some seeds this week since we are hoping last frost is beginning of April here.
any and all advice is appreciates, Jessica thank you so much for putting this together!

John Ehrling Welcome to the community! I look forward to discussing gardening with you!

Today I started tomatoes (black cherry, big rainbow, and Cherokee purple), peppers (jalapeño, serrano, Hungarian hot and giant sweet bell), onions, leeks, broccoli, lemongrass, calendula, borage and basil seeds. My husband and boys got the chicken coop fixed up, and we are hoping to get a few more hens next week. :)

John Ehrling Awesome! I look ofrward to seeing some photos of your veggies as they grow.

Jessica So exciting!

Noel How fun!! Good luck with all your new seedlings and hens!

Hey Friends...any other Michigan gardeners here? Last year was the first time that I grew a few veggies in containers, and I was hooked. This year I was blessed with a small plot of land 70'x70' and I will be able to grow all the veggies until my heart is content. Is this s HUGE under taking, I believe so... but am I excited for the opportunity, you better believe it. I'm here for all the advice...remember, I'm a beginner gardener. 🙂

MaryBeth Hibbert Hi Sarah, I'm 75yrs and undertake two beds (20x24 & 20x20) plus a herb garden (10x6). If I can do it with getting over spinal surgery, I have faith that you'll be able to grow your dream garden. Good luck and never give up !!!

Terrissa Hi Sarah! Have you ever watched MIGardener on YouTube? Luke has wonderful advice and his videos are you usually short and to the point. And he's in Michigan so I'm sure it would be even more helpful for you. :)

John Ehrling There are collegiate resource here if you need help: https://gardensavvy.com/plant-information/

Jennifer Here in 6b southeast Michigan. 7th year gardener. Agree!!!!watch Luke, and buy his seed, never a germination problem. Grow things you love first, you love to eat and/or love to look at. I got caught up in growing everything my first year🙄. Welcome, I'm new here also, cant wait for spring🥦

John Ehrling Sounds like we need Luke from MIGardener to join this community so he can share his wisdom with everyone!
