Hi everyone! I am a mom to two toddlers, and I live in PA. This is my third year gardening, for the last 2 years, I did very little because of pregnancy or birth recovery, but I am excited to finally dedicate some time to learning more gardening skills this year! Thank you Jessica for putting this group together!
Jessica Welcome to the group ☺️
Hello Garden Friends, my name is Tammy. I live in Florida and watch Jessica on Three Rivers homestead all the time. Love following her canning and gardening videos. I went through a flood at my property in Sept., so I am planning to start my garden over as most of it was washed away in the flood. So when she posted about this Garden Savvy, I though, that sounds like a great way to start my garden back. So here I am. I plan to use raised bed gardens as I have limited mobility after neck surgery several years ago and that's the best fit for me.
Is is a good idea to put the black cloth down under the raised beds to control weeds or is it not necessary?
Thanks Guys!

Hi everyone! (I thought I posted this in here but looks like I put it in the entire garden savvy community LOL)
My name is Stephanie and I am sooo happy to be here! I am out on the eastern side of Long Island, NY and I often feel a little alone in my garden endeavors haha. I have a 7 year old daughter that I homeschool. I am also a hairdresser and I sell health and wellness products with Isagenix. I feel so blessed I get to work from home so I can dive in to my home and yard this year.
I am really new to everything, last year was a bust, the year before I had many accidental plants which made me so happy. My goals this year are to be very intentional in my garden planning, how and what I want to preserve to have later, and become more handy in my DIY skills. A goal of mine in the next month is to either build my own chicken coop and run, or purchase the coop and build the run myself. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻!
I’ll be starting some seeds this week since we are hoping last frost is beginning of April here.
any and all advice is appreciates, Jessica thank you so much for putting this together!
You amaze me with your energy and creative meals plus all the work you do in the house, garden and now with the outside torn up for a while ?? How do you do it all? I watch your channel and it flabbergasts me. Your children are so respectful, loving toward each other and helpful around the house. Thanks for being who you are....Keep doing what you're doing. Many blessings to you all. Hugs 💜
I am excited to get started. My last frost date is 5/15. I am starting my broccoli and cauliflower from seed today. Thank you Jessica for telling me about this website. In two weeks I will be starting my tomatoes and peppers and egg plant. I am so excited to get started. This year we also rented two plots that are 10 feet by 20 feet.
Hey guys! So happy to be in this group. My name is Danielle and I'm a homeschooling mom to 6 kids ranging from 16 to 4 and I've been gardening for years but on small scales. This year we are growing BIG(we have 1 acre). So far I have started onions, lettuce, peppers, cabbage and some herbs and flowers. I am in zone 7a - NJ. This garden forum is such a fun idea.
Hello everyone. I'm new to gardening and live in zone 9b in Northern California. This is my second year gardening but honestly last year I just threw plants in the ground and hoped for the best. The only success I had was Roma tomatoes and 2 kinds of cucumbers. This year I'm ALL IN and starting from seed. I live in an apartment but we have a little piece of side yard that I have taken over. As the 'plot' is very small, I'm trying to pack as much as I can in the given space (approx. 7x30). Does anyone know if there is a way to place vertical gardens (GreenStalks) and arched trellises in Hortisketch?
Hi All - Im Alice from North Idaho. Im a homeschooling mom of 2, (mom of 4 total, only 2 are still school aged). Ive been having babies since 2001 and my children range in ages 23-5. Im looking forward to improving my food production and preservation game this season (I will probably have a lot of questions)
Jessica Welcome, Alice ☺️
